Speaker Bios:
Bill Von Gonten is the founder of W.D. Von Gonten & Co. and W.D. Von Gonten Laboratories, which merged in 2022 to form W.D. Von Gonten Engineering. Specializes in hydraulic fracture modeling, reservoir simulations, and oil and gas reserve estimations. Built a state-of-the-art core laboratory to analyze layered reservoirs and develop innovative workflows for hydraulic fracture connectivity and fluid extraction techniques. Co-developed methods to measure permeability in nano-darcy rocks and assess formation damage from completion fluids.
Garrett Fowler is the Chief Operating Officer at ResFrac, leading business strategy, client engagement, professional services, and software licensing for shale, geothermal, and CCS projects worldwide. Previously specialized in EOR and waterflooding as a reservoir engineer at Oxy and Tachyus. Holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Stanford University, is a 2023-2024 SPE Distinguished Lecturer, a recipient of the 2022 SPE Regional Completions Optimization and Technology Award, and has authored 24 technical papers.
